My first blog – that’s an achievement in itself! What am I doing with a blog? Blame Oxford Brookes. Their on-line tutoring course I have enrolled in has said it’s a very good idea to get a blog! I have taken them at their word.
I’ve been teaching in HE for 10 years now. I’m here at Bath Spa because my colleagues are great and the campus is stunning. The students are enthusiastic and because we’re not into graduate mass production (yet) I get to know them as individuals.
I’ve always considered myself fairly IT literate but now feel I’m out of touch. Everyone’s using Facebook (not me), blogs (well I’ve got this one), YouTube (don’t get it), Twitter (you’ve lost me completely now) etc. I don’t fully understand what these things are, I am rather nervous of using them and I never feel I’ve got the time to find out … this is going to be a great opportunity for me.
I hope this isn’t my first and last blog.
